As we work to expand our digital offerings, we want to provide you with an update on our progress.
In the earliest days of the Covid-19 crisis, we responded with great urgency to the rapidly-evolving remote learning needs of educators and students. In conditions that demanded speed, we digitized materials that could be made digital, as quickly as possible. However, without the luxury of time, it was difficult to produce virtual materials that achieved the same results as those of the print versions, which had been specifically designed to support classroom-based instruction.
This summer, we are working diligently to develop more secure methods to deliver books to students in ways that maintain the integrity of the original teaching resources, and we will continue to do so as we move forward. We are focused on constructing a more thorough, robust, subscription-based model that will meet present needs and lead instruction into the future. And we are committed to providing the best support for our customers – teachers - no matter where they will be required to teach.
The creation of tools that are not only digitally accessible, but also secure and pedagogically sound, takes time. While we will offer as many materials as possible this fall, development will be an ongoing process that will extend beyond the start of and into the 2020 school year.
We will stay in touch and keep you informed. As always, we are grateful for your business, your partnership, and your patience.

From Units of Study:
To support Units of Study teachers with blended or virtual teaching, Lucy Calkins and her Teachers College Reading and Writing Project colleagues have developed virtual teaching supports for Units of Study K-8 in Reading, Writing, and Phonics.
The units have been sequenced and adapted in ways that take into account the COVID interruption and that follow the TCRWP’s recommended sequence of instruction for 2020-21.
The resources include support for small group work and conferring, and a short video for parents and caregivers explaining the unit.
These will be available by subscription starting on July 20th. For more information on these new resources, click the botton below.
